BI Architect

Broadview Technical Solutions is placing a BI Architect to support an enterprise data and analytics environment built on Cognos and Microsoft Power Platform. You will work across departments to deliver reporting solutions, maintain platform stability, and lead new BI development from requirements through production.

Responsibilities

• Gather and document business requirements; develop project plans and deploy solutions through the full change/release management cycle.
• Perform unit testing, system integration testing, and coordinate user acceptance testing prior to production deployment.
• Provide ongoing maintenance, enhancements, and on-call support to keep platform applications stable.
• Maintain non-production and production Cognos environments, including patching and upgrades.
• Administer Cognos platform components: installation, configuration, user accounts, security profiles, and access controls.
• Log, track, and resolve system problems while maintaining data integrity across all interfaces.
• Define and coordinate disaster recovery test scopes; work with internal staff and third parties to execute DR activities.
• Produce accurate technical documentation and end-user training materials for all new implementations.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in data warehousing, data analysis, source-to-target mapping, dimensional modeling (Star/Snowflake schema, fact and dimension tables), and ETL.
• 10+ years with Microsoft SQL Server, including data modeling, stored procedures, views, and database management.
• 5+ years with Azure Analysis Services: tabular model development, deployment, and report integration.
• Experience developing and optimizing OLAP/Tabular cubes; strong DAX skills including dynamic security models and complex aggregations.
• Proficiency in writing optimized SQL queries; experience using SQL Profiler, DMVs, and performance monitor to resolve deadlocks and tune long-running queries.
• Familiarity with Power BI, Cognos, or Tableau preferred.
• Strong communication skills; comfortable interacting at all levels of an organization.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Relevant certifications preferred.

Compensation: $75 - $83/hr
